Avett is a Big Blessing
Avett became a member of my family on January 20th, 2011. We came across his litter at the shelter in Huntington, WV. He was the only puppy in the litter that was solid black, and as soon as I held him in my arms I knew I had to have him. My boyfriend and I wanted a Lab, and that's what we thought he was, until he got bigger than a standard Labrador. He's a Plott, which is a breed of Coonhound and the state dog of North Carolina. He was also named after our favorite Americana/Folk band, The Avett Brothers, who are appropriately from N. Carolina. He is absolutely my best friend and he makes life so fun! He loves anyone that will play with him, and thinks he has to be in your lap at all times (which can get annoying with a 90lb puppy!). He loves other dogs and cats, loves to tug, LOVES peanut butter, and is incredibly smart, loving and sweet... not to mention he still has that puppy energy! He also can be the most headstrong animal you'll ever meet, which makes him incredibly funny. Avett is a WONDERFUL DOG and my life has been blessed with his presence!
